My path. And what defines me.
My name is Ben—I’m 22 years old, grew up in the beautiful town of Untershausen in Rhineland-Palatinate, and have been living in Berlin for several years now. I’ve been a passionate musician since I was six years old, and I pursue this passion both in my hometown and in Berlin alongside my computer science studies.
What truely shaped me began earlier: at the Musikgymnasium Montabaur —a school that combines academic excellence with a sense of community. There, I learned what it means to lead an ensemble and to play together with many others in an orchestra. As a conductor, you’re responsible for the sound of 30 to 80 people. As a musician, you have to stay alert, listen to the other musicians, and follow the conductor’s instructions. That shapes you.
After graduating from high school, I moved to Berlin and enrolled at Humboldt University. I completed my computer science degree within the standard period of study—while also working on notono.de, serving as editor-in-chief of a music theory platform, and participating in orchestra projects. I see multitasking not as a source of stress, but as a way to stay organized. Organization and discipline are my daily companions.
What began as my bachelor’s thesis project at mindsquare AG is now my day-to-day work: I was able to jump right in as an IT consultant—with the desire not just to fulfill a role, but to make a real difference. Ever since, I’ve looked forward to being part of this unique community every day and spending time with my #FriendsNotJustColleagues.
