Privacy Policy
1. Controller
The controller within the meaning of the GDPR is Ben Müller (contact details above).
2. Hosting
This website is hosted by Serverprofis GmbH, Germany. The web server technically processes connection data on each page request (including IP address, date, time, page accessed, browser type). This data is stored in server logs and automatically deleted after 7 days at the latest. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure website operation).
3. Own Access Statistics
This website operates its own access statistics. No external service such as Google Analytics is used, and no content is loaded from third-party servers – the fonts used are hosted on this server as well. Two things are recorded:
a) Per page view: the page accessed, the date, the origin of the visit as one of five categories (direct, Google, Bing, social network, other – the referring address itself is not stored) and a visitor value. This value is a non-reversible hash of IP address, browser identifier and the current date; it changes every day. The IP address itself is not stored.
b) Per page view, additionally a recognition identifier from the bm_vid cookie (see section 4) together with page and date. This makes it possible to count how many distinct people visit the site, including across several days.
Automated requests (search engine crawlers and similar programs) are not counted. Device type, country of origin and location are not collected, and no IP address is transmitted to any other service. Both statistics tables are deleted automatically once an entry is older than 12 months. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in evaluating the use of my own website).
Objection: visit muellerben.de/?exclude_me=1 once. After that, no page view is counted in this browser and no recognition cookie is set.
4. Cookies
This website sets three cookies. None of them passes data to third parties, and none serves advertising purposes.
bm_vid – a random identifier with no personal reference, set on the first visit, lifetime 12 months. Its only purpose is counting distinct visitors (section 3 b). This cookie is not required for the website to function. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
bm_notrack – the objection cookie, lifetime 12 months. It is only set if you visit muellerben.de/?exclude_me=1. As long as it is present, nothing is counted and no bm_vid is set.
PHPSESSID – the technical PHP session cookie. It contains only a session number and is deleted when the browser is closed.
You can delete or block cookies in your browser at any time; the site works unchanged without them.
5. Contact Form
If you use the contact form, the data entered (email address, subject, message) is forwarded to me by email and additionally stored in this website’s database so that no enquiry is lost. I delete it once the enquiry has been dealt with, and immediately on request. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to access, rectification, deletion and restriction of processing of your personal data, as well as the right to data portability. You also have the right to object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR). For requests, please contact mail@muellerben.de. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
